Another part of the process was in making the selection of which builder. I met Sam when I was volunteering at the Extreme Makeover Home Edition in Joplin and was really impressed with is demeanour and professionalism. But there is always a kink in the rope. My new neighbour is a builder also and I had always said I would get three quotes when I built a house. Julia and I both liked Sam and felt he would do the best job with what we wanted to do. For us we have been planning a lot of the things we want in our house for years so it was a pretty easy process.
About our home site. We have three acres just south east of Ozark, Missouri in Christian County. We are probably only a couple hundred yards away as the bullet flies from where we live now. I can actually see the back corner of the new lot from our deck. We had purchased a home when we were still living in London but it is just not what we really want to spend the rest of our lives in. It would be a great home for a large family but not comfortable for us.
Well that is all for now, I am sure there will be more later as we go along. My plan is to post a picture every day of work with and update.
